Pottery Barn Inspired Table Scape And Blue Hour Photography

I recently found this vintage wooden pulley as a curb find. I couldn’t believe someone would throw this out! I had to stand there for a minute, blinking, because I couldn’t believe my eyes!

This is a nautical knot, called a “Monkey’s Fist”. I’ve seen these in the new Pottery Barn catalog. Here is a tutorial on how to DIY.

A couple of weeks ago, Susan our Tablescape Thursday hostess at Between Naps On The Porch, blogged about the color of the sky during “The Blue Hour”. She Incorporated it into her table scape post. I had never really noticed the Blue Hour before, it’s so beautiful! I logged onto the site that she suggested, Bluehoursite.com. It helped me find the best Blue Hour time for my area. The results were fabulous. Thank you, Susan!

Your whole nautical table is lovely and I may have to “borrow” some of your ideas. Thanks so much for sharing.

  2. OMGosh…your blue hour photos are some of the best I've seen. Just beautiful. I have tried for the blue hour but can't figure out how to set my camera for night shots. Need to google it, I guess.
Love the olden pulley and the knot is awesome.
